The Meteor was supposed to be Kreyos’ flagship product, their piece-de-resistance. Set up on Indiegogo and advertised as being a singing ‘n dancing smart watch, the Meteor received pledges of $1.5 million—fifteen times Kreyos’ initial fundraising goal of $100,000. Unfortunately, things didn’t go that well after that. In a well-documented series of calamities, Kreyos’ production factory flooded. Deliveries were badly delayed, and even when the Meteors did eventually fly out to their anticipant recipients, they were soon discovered to be unreliable and only containing a few of the promised features. Flop.
